Day of sadness

Cry, my brothers and sisters! Today they told the news I have dreaded for so long - and I still cannot tell how it will affect me in the future.

The F1 Grand Prix in Monza was brilliant - Michael Schumacher won! Yet the sad news were soon to follow: my hero and favorite driver shall retire!

I do not know how long I have liked him - probably since I began to watch Formula 1, a couple of years ago. Now, as he is leaving the races, I find myself utterly unhappy. But, all things come to an end.

For the honor of Schumi, I shall go tomorrow and try to find a poster of him/Ferrari, to put it on my wall (as much as my father hates his face).

Thank you, Michael, for these several years of good entertainment and tough races! You bet I am watching the remaining GPs, too! You deserve to win the championship this year, no doubt of that!

Under the Iron Sea

I feel with you! I've been a fan since he started his F1 career and 15 years of following someone's work aren't wiped away easily. I really felt like crying. I was so little when I started watching F1, only five to be precise, but my Dad was a fan of Michael's from the beginning and I just grew up with it, there was never a doubt about who my favourite driver really is. :)
F1 certainly isn't going to be the same anymore. But I'm sure that Michael will retire with yet another title! :)

Ouch ;) I have been looking F1 only for a couply of years :) I feel such a novice here :D

I think Michael has such a good chance to win the championship yet again - and he had better. After that, Alonso and Räikkönen can have their share of fights (I am still so annoyed that Räikkönen is going to Ferrari, because I am fan of the team, and I cannot stand this Finnish guy who can't even talk out loud properly ;) He's always mumbling...). Not that I liked Mika Häkkinen, either, for some reason... But Salo is brilliant! He is working as a commentator in our Finnish "commentaries" in some of the races :D Such a funny, nice guy...

Ok, enough of randomness here...

Heehee, no need to. :) It doesn't matter how long you've been a fan, the fact *that* you're a fan is what counts. ^_________^

I don't know, from all of Michael's big rivals, I liked Mika the best. He's a good driver and I am kinda happy that Kimi is going to be the next Ferrari driver. Although I'd rather see Massa be hyped in the team, he's terrific.

Yeah, Massa really should get more respect! I mean, he was/is a lesser driver with Schumi, and now again he has to be number two with Kimi... It kind of draws a lot of sympathy from me. He deserves a lot more than he is getting right now. Like Mika Salo said, he is going to be driving Ferrari just because they must have two drivers in the races...

Jared Leto [ABL]

I'm still hoping that he'll get the attention he deserves. I think Ferrari is a pretty fair team. Before, well, they did want to win, of course, and Schumi was always clearly the better driver, so Irvine, Barichello and the others had to be the back-up drivers. But it's not like they were promised to be #1 to get them on the team and were then dropped because of Schumi...
And now that Schumi will go (and with Massa having proved that he is good!), it should be interesting to see him and Kimi compete.
In the last few races, Massa was always up front, fighting with the others, so why should he stop next year? I'd say Kimi is less intimidating as a team partner than Schumi (hehe!), so there's no reason for him to be starstruck and back off. ^________^

We'll see what happens, soon enough... Kimi is a big option to be the new star of F1, but he still needs to settle in Ferrari-team, and all that. But I definitely hope all the best to Massa! <3
